AGM Panel Event
A very successful event was held at our AGM, when invited politicians and distinguished guests debated the burning questions of the day at an "Any Questions?" session. Russell Brown MP, Alasdair Morgan MSP, Councillor Peter Duncan, Rev. A. Currie, Father Ben Lodge, Fiona Colley and Adrian Turpin had the audience's full attention for three hours while they debated the difficult and controversial questions of 2010.
2010 Local Business Directory

2010 AGM, 15th January 2010
All members are welcome to attend the AGM on 15th January 2010, at 7pm at the Whithorn Trust Visitor Centre. An "Any Questions" panel will be held after usual business.

Whithorn and District Business Association has featured in the latest ( June ) issue of DG Life, with interviews with local traders on their lives, work and aspirations.
Bruce Street works
Resurfacing and landscaping works at Bruce Street are near to completion.
Alex Fergusson MSP attends AGM
A most successful evening was held, with Alex Fergusson MSP and Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament, who was guest speaker at the AGM. He spoke informatively and wittily on the role of the PO at the Parliament and answered a very wide variety of questions from the audience.

Ethel Brolls' Romanian Orphans Knitting Appeal
Ethel Brolls is running a knitting appeal in aid of Romanian orphans. She needs your help to make blankets, jumpers, hats, mitts and scarves. With the aid of Blythswood Care, Ethel's Appeal is ongoing nationwide and is in its fifth year.
Christmas Lights
Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, a most successful Bingo Night was held, courtesy of the Machars Lions. A total of £307 was raised to fund a further phase of Christmas decorations.
CARS and Scottish Power progress
The CARS for Whithorn ( Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme) has now been launched, with approximately fifty property owners expressing interest. Meanwhile, progress continues on the Scottish Power grounding of cables.
